The families were the closest of friends. All the kids grew up together. Then sadly “uncle” Don died way too early. When it was time for Molly to marry, she wanted desperately to have Don’s presence at the event. So we staged the wedding and reception at Don’s house. It sat on a small cul-de-sac that allowed for the ceremony to take place under a grand oak tree coming out of the street. Guests cocktailed in the backyard while the driveway was set for a candlelit dinner. Then everyone returned to the flipped back yard for a dessert reception and dancing over the pool covered with a custom deck. The Boho-chic styling of the bride allowed the look of the event to mirror the couple’s fun personality and gave the event a home-spun magic. We all felt Don’s approval.
